Here what our students have to say about their Peruvian experiences.
From the streets of Cuzco to Sachsaywaman, we experienced the people, the food, great views and so much more. Ollantaytambo is a breathtaking location in the highlands of Peru where several valleys converge. Ollantaytambo connects three major Incan regions, the Amazon, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu. This stopping point for traveling to Machu Picchu was also where we completed our service learning project. The kids were AMAZING! Their commitment and dedication to the service project and the children of Ollantaytambo was unparalleled. Watch our video to see for yourself how these students begin to transform the Yachay Wasi preschool in Ollantaytambo, Peru. Even with the high altitude, sunshine, and busy schedule that we had, everyone worked with purpose! Hello Global Scholars, friends, and family. We hope you enjoy viewing our video travel logs. What a fantastic time we had! We are proud of the G-D Global Scholars, thankful, and honored to have shared these experiences with them! Stay tuned for other video logs and details about sharing our photos with each other. We would love to hear more about your trip experiences. Please share your most memorable moments on our Peru community blog. Hola Nilton, Lucho, & all of the new friends that we have met along the way! We would love to hear from you as well. We were up and out the door bright and early Friday morning to tour Lima, the capital city of Peru. On our way to the Larco Museum, our first stop, Lucho and Nil, our tour guides began to share information about Peru. On the way we passed a park taken that was over by cats initially brought in to control a bird problem. We later learned that it is the John F. Kennedy park. The museum tour was great! Next up, the San Francisco Monastery and catacombs. What an amazing experience! Before meeting the bus, we stopped Plaza Mayor for some photo opps. Luis, our driver, next took us to LarcoMar, a mall on the Pacific Ocean for lunch. Take a look at some of the photos and watch our latest video. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments sections. :-) We are all enjoying this amazing adventure and look forward to telling you all about the trip! We have arrived safely after a long day of travel. The kids are awesome! We are tired but super excited to begin exploring Lima tomorrow. Sweet dreams! Have some ideas or other creative ways to share... send them to Ms. Kaplan |
